Happy Independence Day

July 4, 2010

Today the United States turns 234 years old. Today is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain.  To me being an American means that we get to enjoy freedoms or rights. For example we have the freedom of speech, religion, press, right to bear arms, to vote, and many more.

Today I will spend the day not only celebrating the day our nation became free from Britain but I will also be knitting on the husbands scarf and dealing with a toothache from hades.

Happy Birthday U.S.A!
