The sock is on hold for..

January 23, 2012

I put the rib sock on hold, so I can make a baby sweater. Stay with me. The reason I did this was this. I have 3, count them 3 babies to knit for. Babies are everywhere! And I might have caught the baby knitting bug! Go to Ravelry and see if you cannot resist the baby items (it proved to be an extreme task for me, and that might be because I am a mother).

So last night I was looking through my EZ books and came across the yoke sweater and I thought “I wonder if I can make this baby sized.” So, I casted on and have 10 rows of knitting done. 10! That is equivalent to 2 inches of k2, p2 ribbing for that sweater; which I think is adequate enough. Now I am starting on the body. Pics will come after I am done. For right now though I have to go, Sir Washie went off and I have to put the clothes in Mr. Dryer.

Lesson learned

January 17, 2012

For the past 2 weeks I have had a really bad cold. This cold was so bad that I couldn’t knit for very long without my head spinning. Well today I find that I am better (enough to knit that is). Yes I am still working on the rotating rib sock. I had to rip out rows of knitting! This in effect has made me start right back where I was, which was an inch (maybe a little more) below the ball of the foot. So sadly, I am right back where I started.

Lesson learned: Never knit when you have a cold so bad your head is spinning. Don’t even try it, you will thank me later.

Birthday wishes and a quick update

January 4, 2012

First I would like to wish my beloved sister a Happy Birthday! Second, I am still working on the rotating rib sock. In all honesty I have not worked on it since new years eve. Now it turns out that I have a cold, so until my head clears (and until I can effectively count to six without hammers pounding on my head) I will put a pause on the sock and pick up another project I am working on or start another one. I will let you know more as I figure it out. Right now, I am going to have a lay down on the chasterfield, eat soup, drink fluids, and rest.

Hope all is well my dear knitters, and please stay safe and warm. And please forgive the spelling and grammar errors ( I blame the cold gnomes).
